Installation Steps

1. Prepare the Switch and Rack
   • Velcro tie the network switch power cords toward the center to avoid interference with the SwitchAir brush strip .
   • Remove the lower mounting screws from each side of the rack front rails, keeping the upper screws in place .
2. Install SwitchAir Channels
   • Insert the SwitchAir channels into the open rack space at the same U height as the switch.
   • Engage the SwitchAir rail tabs with the switch rails for support.
   • Ensure the front mounting flanges are flush with the rack front rails and reinstall the screws removed earlier .
3. Mount the SwitchAir Chassis
   • Slide the chassis into the installed channels from the front of the rack.
   • Secure the chassis with screws (not always included) to ensure stability .
4. Verify Airflow Direction
   • Confirm that the switch's fan modules are aligned with the cold aisle for intake and the hot aisle for exhaust.
   • All fan modules must have the same airflow direction to prevent recirculation and hotspots .
