Standard Fiber Color Sequence

For splicing, each fiber within a cable is color-coded according to the TIA-598-C standard. The universal 12-color sequence is:

Application in Splicing

When splicing fibers, technicians match the color of each fiber from one cable to the corresponding fiber in the other cable or pigtail. In multi-fiber cables, such as 48, 96, or 144-fiber cables, the 12-color sequence is applied both to the buffer tube and the individual fibers inside the tube. For example, fiber #45 in a 144-fiber cable would be the yellow fiber inside the brown buffer tube .

Cable Jacket and Connector Colors
